My name is Hope Howard and I am a senior at the Missouri School of Journalism. Currently, I'm working to produce and anchor segments at KBIA, a local NPR affiliate in Columbia, MO, while also working as an editor for Vox, Columbia's lifestyle magazine.
Previously, I had the amazing opportunity to intern abroad in London at the Independent. While I was there, I was able to write feature and opinion pieces. The experience introduced me to the world of freelance writing, and I currently will write pieces for them when requested.
Most recently, I took an internship at Weber Shandwick to gain insight into the world of corporate and consumer public relations. As an intern, I worked on several accounts, such as Anheuser-Busch, Verizon, and Coca-Cola to help in various campaings. Specifically, I helped to secure media placements and conduct research to assist in development of strategy.
I'm confident that both of these internships, in addition to my work at local stations in Columbia, have prepared me for an exciting job in the world of either media, marketing or business.
